Smart Youth Effort for Advanced Community (Smart Youth) is a youth-led organization in Tanzania committed to closing the generational gap through skills development, economic empowerment, and social inclusion. We equip youth and elders to work together in addressing unemployment, digital exclusion, and social challenges, fostering sustainable development, intergenerational learning, and stronger community resilience.

SaveElders Tanzania – Empowering 500+ Elders for a Dignified Future

SaveElders Tanzania is an innovative intergenerational initiative that empowers both elders and youth to address poverty, health disparities, and social exclusion. By positioning elders as mentors, cultural custodians, and community advisors, and equipping youth with tools in digital literacy, advocacy, and entrepreneurship, the program builds bridges between generations to create stronger, more inclusive communities.

Smart Shule – 200+ Youth Equipped for the Digital Economy

Smart Shule is Smart Youth’s flagship intergenerational learning hub, connecting elders and youth to co-create solutions to local challenges. The program leverages elders’ leadership experience and cultural insight alongside youth-driven digital tools, entrepreneurship, and innovation. This unique model fosters sustainable business practices, preserves traditional knowledge, and promotes lifelong learning.

Imarika Project – 100+ Young Female Leaders & 40+ Entrepreneurs in Menstrual Health

Imarika empowers adolescent girls and older women in rural Tanzania through menstrual health education, entrepreneurship, and skills training in reusable pad production. Older women contribute cultural understanding and economic advice, while girls lead on innovation, awareness, and advocacy—breaking taboos, generating income, and promoting health equity.
